200
Today the Meetup community reached 200 members.
I sat with that number for a moment. Not quite sure what to do with it.
The honest thing is, not all 200 show up. Some never will. People sign up in a moment of intention, a small hopeful yes, and then life moves in a different direction. Work runs long. The weekend fills. The energy isn't there. I know this feeling. I've been that person too.
I don't think that makes the yes meaningless.
There's something worth noticing in the act of signing up at all. It's a small signal. I want this kind of thing in my life. Whether or not someone walks through the park on a Sunday morning, that impulse is real. The desire to slow down, to be in nature, to be around others who are also trying to be present… that counts for something.
What moves me is the people who do show up. Who arrive a little unsure and leave saying I didn't know this park existed or I never thought there'd be birds in Barcelona. Those moments are the ones I carry.
200 is just a number. But underneath it, there are real people: some present, some not yet, some maybe never - all carrying the same quiet wish to be a little more here.
That feels like enough to celebrate.
