Volunteer With Us

Here Aware Nature Club started as a way to help people remember how to be here — slowing down, noticing birds, sketching quietly, breathing outside. As the community has grown, I'd love for more of you to help shape what comes next.

If you've ever felt at home leading a group, sharing what you know about birds or drawing, or simply want to be more involved in how these gatherings run, this is for you.

Ways to get involved ‍

Birdwatching Walk Facilitator

Help co-lead a Social Birdwatching walk, spotting and identifying birds alongside the group, helping beginners get oriented, and keeping the pace relaxed and welcoming.

Nature Sketching Facilitator

Guide a small group through a simple sketching prompt or technique, creating a calm, encouraging space where people feel comfortable drawing, no matter their skill level.

‍ ‍

What we're looking for

No expert-level experience required. What matters more is enthusiasm, reliability, and a genuine love for slowing down in nature. If you're new to facilitating, that's okay too. We can co-lead your first session or two together.

‍ ‍

How it works

This is an unpaid, volunteer role. What you'll gain instead: real, hands-on experience facilitating group sessions — something you can add to your portfolio, resume, or LinkedIn as you build your own path in community facilitation, outdoor education, or creative practice. It's also a lovely way to deepen your own connection to birdwatching or sketching by teaching it to others.

We're building this community together, and it's only as good as the people who show up for it. I'd love to have you be part of it.
