Bird Photo Walk: Slow Down, Watch, and Photograph Barcelona's Parks
There's a particular kind of quiet that settles over a park early in the morning, before the joggers and dog walkers arrive in force. The light is soft, the birds are active, and if you stop moving for a minute, the park starts to reveal itself. That's the feeling we're chasing with Bird Photo Walk, our new outdoor event from Here Aware Nature Club.
Bird Photo Walk combines birdwatching with photography. We go on a gentle walk together, and instead of rushing from one spot to the next, we pause whenever something catches our attention: a bird settling into a tree, an interesting patch of light, a view worth stopping for. Those pauses are your chance to lift your camera or phone and try to capture what you're seeing.
This isn't a photography class, and it isn't a bird identification course either. Nobody's grading your composition and nobody needs to know a robin from a wren. It's simply an opportunity to slow down, pay attention, and enjoy being outside with people who like doing the same thing. No photography experience is needed, and no fancy equipment either — your phone works just as well as a camera with a big lens.

We're running two walks this autumn:

15 November 2026, 10:00 AM — Parc del Turó del Carmel
What to Expect
Each walk is built around one continuous flow: a birdwatching walk with plenty of stops along the way to photograph the birds, plants, and landscapes we come across. There's no strict itinerary and no pressure to get the "perfect shot" — just a relaxed pace and a friendly, welcoming group.

The exact meeting point is shared in our Here Aware Nature Club WhatsApp Community. Once you register, you'll get a link to join the chat, where we share event logistics, the exact meeting location, weather updates, and photos after the event.
A Quick Note on Photos
Photos and short videos may be taken during the event for use on the Here Aware website, social media, and other promotional materials. By attending, you consent to appearing in these images for marketing purposes. If you'd rather not appear in any photos or videos, just let us know before the walk begins.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
Children are welcome when accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. Dogs, unfortunately, aren't permitted, since they can disturb birds and other wildlife during the birdwatching portion of the walk. And as always, we ask everyone to respect the wildlife around us and leave the area just as they found it.
