Here Aware is Becoming Here Aware Nature Club

Here Aware is relaunching as Here Aware Nature Club — a Barcelona community for curious birdwatchers and nature artists. Here's what's changing, and what isn't.

I've been sitting on this for a while, so it feels good to finally say it out loud: Here Aware is relaunching as Here Aware Nature Club.

‍ ‍

If you've been following along for a bit, here's the short version of how we got here.

‍ ‍

How this started

‍ ‍

In 2025, while practising Reiki, I found myself spending more and more time outdoors. Some of my earliest sessions took place in nature, and I got fascinated by how much just being outside could help people slow down and notice more.

‍ ‍

In January 2026, I turned that into a community — a Meetup group built around mindfulness walks and social birdwatching in Barcelona. It became a genuinely nice space, faster than I expected.

‍ ‍

Then in May 2026, I had to pause it to focus on my own health.

‍ ‍

During that time, birdwatching kept me going. And I rediscovered something else that helped just as much: art. When I launched my nature journal, I brought coloured pencils and watercolours along for anyone who wanted them. People sat together drawing, colouring, talking — and something shifted. Conversation slowed down. Strangers turned into people who showed up again the next month. Drawing gave everyone permission to just be present, without needing to perform being good at it.

‍ ‍

That's the thing I couldn't unsee once I saw it: birdwatching and art are doing the same job. Both ask you to slow down and pay attention. So the relaunch just makes that official.

‍ ‍

What's changing

‍ ‍

A new name. Here Aware Nature Club — a community for curious birdwatchers and nature artists.

‍ ‍

Four ways to show up, each month:

‍ ‍

‍ ‍

A simpler way to contribute. Bird Walks and Birdwatching Adventures ask for €2, creative sessions ask for €5 (which covers shared art materials). It's not a paywall — if it's not the right time for you, you're still welcome, just send me a message.

‍ ‍

What isn't changing

‍ ‍

You still don't need to know anything. Not about birds, not about drawing. I'm not running this because I'm the best birdwatcher or the best artist in the group — I'm running it because I think learning is more fun when we're curious together.

‍ ‍

Whether you bring binoculars, a sketchbook, or both, there's a spot for you.

‍ ‍

Come find out for yourself

‍ ‍

The easiest way to see what this actually feels like is to just show up. Check the events page for the next Bird Walk, Birdwatching Adventure, Birds & Brushes, or Nature Sketch — and if you have questions before then, get in touch, I answer everything myself.

‍ ‍

Build slowly, stay curious, and learn alongside one another. That's the whole idea.
